The Bridge

Along with every failure, one hopes that there can be some successes to balance the scales of justice in the universe.

The bridge turned out to be a happy accident. I wanted a footbridge over the upper pond and stream. I wanted it large enough that several people could view the ponds from above and yet wanted to maintain some scale.

I settled on a 2 x 6 frame, 2 x 4 decking, 4x4 posts and 2 x 10 rail benches. With a little waterproofing stain to cover the green cast of pressure treated wood and standard deck construction techniques, I ended up with something that worked. With two solar lights, it ends up being exactly what I wanted.

I’m trying to figure out how to show the lighting using digital photographic methods. It’s really quite lovely with the landscape lighting in place.
