As a single working mother in Denver, Vick does her best to raise her son and keep them both housed and fed. Without any help she tries to keep their life together.

But eventually, the bastards wear her down. Faced with the choice of giving her son a chance but losing him, she makes the most difficult decision of her life and gives him up to his father.

She never stops trying to get him back. This is the beginning of a 15 year effort from which she never rests. More on this later.
